East Coast Refranchising, UK

Following GNER's surrendering of the East Coast franchise and the subsequent invitation for bidders in the refranchising of the franchise, RWA Rail was asked to work with one of the bidders in the preparation work for their bid.

This project involved extensive timetabling work which was undertaken using CMS™ timetabling software to produce proposals for inclusion in the bid document. DISPO™ was used to turn these timetables into rolling stock diagrams which in turn were input into TRACS™ to produce train crew diagrams and figures for the document and financial models. For the first time ever, TRACS™ was used to create diagrams for all onboard staff. Rosters were created from the TRACS™ diagrams using IRMA™, the rostering tool from DeltaRail.

The new franchise is due to commence in December 2007.
