Ebbw Vale, Gwent

The line from Newport to Ebbw Vale has had no regular passenger service since 1962. The line is currently disused but the track is still in situ. Proposals have been made to re-open the line to passengers and freight in 2007.

RWA Rail were involved in the modelling of the proposed hourly timetable for the scheme to determine whether the proposed infrastructure changes would be sufficient to prevent deterioration in performance once the additional services were running. RailSys was also used to make minor changes to the proposed timetables to improve performance.
